Terrazzo, teak, and cane: the materials defining Indian interiors in 2026.

March 15, 2024·4 min read

We are seeing a definitive shift away from the high-gloss, synthetic finishes of the 2010s. The new luxury is tactile, honest, and distinctly Indian.

1. Custom Terrazzo No longer just for old government buildings, terrazzo is being reimagined with bold chips and custom colors, offering a seamless, durable floor that ages beautifully. It's incredibly forgiving and easy to maintain.

2. Reclaimed Teak The warmth of teak is irreplaceable. Reclaimed wood not only tells a story but is more dimensionally stable than new wood. We use it for statement pieces and millwork.

3. Cane and Wicker Used in cabinet fronts, chairs, and light fixtures, cane brings a lightweight, airy texture that is perfect for the Indian climate. It allows breathability for wardrobes and soft diffusion for lighting.
