Client Note
"The texture of the walls and the warmth of the cane make this huge house feel incredibly intimate. It’s luxurious, but in a very quiet way."
The Brief
A sprawling suburban villa needing a complete interior overhaul. The clients wanted an earthy, tactile home that celebrated Indian craftsmanship without feeling rustic.
The Challenge
Balancing a massive floor plan to feel cohesive without being repetitive. Ensuring the earthy palette felt sophisticated and contemporary, not heavy.
Our Response
We anchored the design in a strict palette of clay-toned plaster, natural cane, and grey stone. Custom cane furniture pieces were designed to scale the large rooms, while the plaster walls provided a continuous, textured backdrop.
The Result
A stunning, tactile home that feels both grounded and grand. The changing daylight across the clay walls provides a subtle dynamism throughout the day.
